... second Earl of Rochester. And I do not want you to like me.

Johnny Depp as John Wilmot in "The Libertine". His best performance by now, IMHO.

This one is for :iconshaman-art: - you know why! :D

Despite of being a Dillinger enthusiast currently, I hope you will like my version of our beloved Libertine.

Poor Earl! He uses his best endeavours to make us hate him, but all in vain... :faint:

Thanks! :)

Indeed, in vain. His eloquence with words, his complete and utter depravity, his disregard for anything conventional (and, of course, his pretty looks) all just endeared him all the more. "You're an endearing sort of chap" hehe. Perhaps meant with a touch of sarcasm in the film, but it's really true.

I like how Norrington and Beckett are also in the movie XD. Just as in 'Finding Neverland', Mulroy (or is it Murdock? They're kind of interchangable) and Ragetti are also in it. What's with all these 'Pirates' people? :P

I'm pretty sure that the "endearing sort of chap" remark had a good deal of sarcasm in it, but yes, it's only too true.

Maybe the "Pirates" gang is only rentable in a lump sum by directors...? :D

Hahaha, an all or nothing sort of deal. The only one of the three I really don't like at all is Beckett, but he was likable in The Libertine. Norrington is quite adorable, though he needed to make up his mind, and when he finally did, he was killed, so that sucked. I loved him in the second film, the whole "heavy hangs the head that yesterday wore the crown" sort of thing is always fascinating to me. And he wouldn't stop puking all over the place XD. Plus, he looks great without his wig, which Jack Davenport said made him look like an icecream in an interview I saw XD.
